Malai Kopta

Ingredients:

For Kofta:
  • 2 boiled potatoes (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup paneer (crumbled)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For Gravy:

    • 2 onions (chopped)
    • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
    • 1/4 cup cashews (soaked and ground)
    • 1/2 cup cream or malai
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
    • Salt to taste

    Instructions:

    1. Make Koftas:
      • Mix mashed potatoes, paneer, cornflour, and salt. Shape into balls and fry until golden. Set aside.
    2. Prepare Gravy:
      • Heat oil, add cumin seeds, and sauté chopped onions until golden. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
      • Add turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. Add cashew paste and cook for a few minutes.
      • Stir in cream and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
    3. Assemble:
      • Add the fried koftas to the gravy just before serving. Garnish with fresh cream and coriander.

    Serve with naan or rice. Enjoy!
