Aloo Tikki


  • Ingredients
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup peas, boiled and mashed
  • 1 tsp ginger, finely grated
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, mix mashed potatoes, mashed peas, ginger, green chilies, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, bread crumbs, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into flat, round patties (tikkis).
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the tikkis until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  4. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with tamarind chutney or mint chutney.
